Robert William Wright (1816-1885) was an American lawyer and author, born in Ludlow, Vermont. He graduated from Harvard in 1842 and became a school teacher in Boston. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1845. He practised in Wisconsin until 1856, where he declined the Whig nomination for congress.
