Sophie says: After I read this book, I can honestly tell you, I do not like this girl. That being said, I think I can say that the judicial system in Italy will forever be flawed in my head. That they did not get this girl an interpreter and a lawyer immediately was a tremendous mistake. The proof that they had was at the very least tainted, and sometimes made up. After a very messed up trial and trumped up evidence, they should have acquitted her right away. Did she do it? Even though she ha...s outlined, and excused every tiny thing they ever said about her, I am not sure. She is shallow, and narcissistic , to say the least. She was in a foreign country having sex, going home with strangers, and doing drugs. Even a 10 year old could have told you that you are treading on thin ice. What if she just got caught doing drugs? She might have been smart, but she had no common sense, or sense of responsibility. She is shallow and treated her "friends" murder like an adventure. Again, even a 10 year old would understand that this is a solemn time. Quirky isn't cold-hearted, it just means you don't beat to the same drummer. This girl would do anything to be "in". She doesn't understand why people don't like her. She is too self-absorbed to see she is uncomfortable to be around. Did she do it? I am not sure she did not play some part in it. I know her words seem to have an feeling of dishonesty. nick says: Sad, shocking, and well written. I came away with the same feeling most people have expressed: be careful when living in a foreign country(especially Italy)!!! And always ask for a lawyer right away. The Italian police and prosecution have taken away any attention from Meredith Kercher, the actual victim of this terrible crime, by focusing their attention on Knox and Solecito. Of course the press and the world followed suit. Another lesson: don't believe the media.MoreLessRead More Read Less
